Vampire Facial (PRP) Update

Hi, today I’m back with a Vampire Facial (PRP) Update. I had the procedure done with my aesthetics nurse Nichola in her clinic in Bangor. She is also known as my wrinkle-free fairy godmother. As I mentioned in my previous post I have been wanting to up my skincare/procedure game. Since hitting my 40s I’m very aware that my skin isn’t as plump as it used to be. I’m also showing more signs of aging including more visible lines. As a beauty writer I do look after my skin well and use some amazing products but sometimes we need a little helping hand and I for one want to try and retain my youthful skin as long as possible.  After discussing the procedure at length with Nichola I booked in to have it done a few months ago. The difference between PRP and other more invasive treatments is no downtime. We all have pretty busy lives these days and I know I don’t have time to take a few days/a week away from my family and plans. I spent approx an hour with Nichola having the procedure completed and was then home to my family. If you look at the picture below that was my face straight after the treatment. By the morning all the puncture marks had gone and you wouldn’t have known I had had any treatments the previous day. I could apply makeup and go about my daily business and go to an event. I was slightly puffy but nothing very noticeable.

The idea behind having this treatment done is to inject the concentrated plasma which is rich in platelets back into the face using multiple injections (100) using a fine needle. Plasma is a part of the blood which is rich in growth factors and the platelets stimulate collagen and elastin growth. The benefits of having this treatment carried out is plumping the skin, helping reduce the signs of large pores, reduce the appearance of acne scarring, give the skin a more youthful look, help with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles whilst also reducing any darkness in the under eye area (which I suffer from badly)

I can obviously give a very fair review on how the treatment went as it has been a few months. Did I notice any difference in my skin? Yes, i noticed results in my skin pretty quickly after the treatment. My skin was much plumper and I also had a lovely glow. The place that I noticed the biggest change would be my large pores and under my eyes. I had issues with dark circles and have down for years, the PRP definitely reduced the depth in colour around the eye area and also reduced some my deeper smile lines. Would I have it again? Yes, i would. Down time was minimal, discomfort experienced during the procedure went straight away and the result outways this.

If you are thinking about having any cosmetic work done including Botox, lip fillers etc I can highly Nichola. She is super friendly and puts you at ease straight away. Her knowledge of the aesthetic beauty industry is vast and is she is also a Nurse Practiconer which means she has had further in-depth training. Nichola has also completed multiple courses over the years which allow her to stay on top of her game.
